Every year the vegetable garden has some miraculous yield. This year it was turnips, beets and zucchini! They were abundant and beautiful so we wanted to preserve them and be able to eat a taste of summer all year.

The relish is tangy and sweet and has some of our garden peppers, onions and a good dose of County corn. We love it as is on a burger, with some sausages and mixed with a bit of mayo for a Wilfrid tartar sauce.
The turnips are pickled with beets for a sweet authentic middle eastern pickling. Great with lamb or as a dipping vehicle for hummus.
